Assign Teacher Access Role to a Contact Record

Location: Contact Management/Contacts/Contact Editor -> Account Manger Access Section/ LMS Teacher Radio Button

Overview: The Teacher Role will need to be given on top of the Teacher Course Record setting to enable additional permissions for that teacher contact to assist in managing courses.

In this module we review:

Assign Teacher Role for Limited Access to Course Management Tasks

By assigning the Learning Management System (LMS) Teacher option under Account Manager Access as found within a Contact record, you can allow a regular contact who is assigned to be a teacher of an online course to also have access to a limited number of features that may be needed to manage an online course.

Note the Teacher Course Record setting that is found within a course, will create a reference to a contact record of the teacher for a course, and feed that info into the Dropbox, Messaging and a few other settings within the course environment.

The Teacher Role will need to be given on top of the Teacher Course Record setting to enable additional permissions for that teacher contact to assist in some admin level management tasks within a course.

In understanding the idea of a Teacher Role, the emphasis is on how much interaction the teacher will need to manage the running of the course.

It is important to understand that a Teacher Role is set in addition to and on top of the primary Teacher assignment at the course level.
