Add Prerequisites to a Course |
Location: Learning Management/Courses/Course Editor -> Prerequisite Courses Section or Prerequisite Course Categories Section
Overview: There are two ways you can add prerequisites to a course, individually one at a time, or as a group via categories. You may use any combination of the two approaches.
Add Individual Courses via Prerequisite Courses Section
Add Courses in Bulk via Prerequisite Course Categories
Location: Learning Management/Courses/Course Editor -> Prerequisite Courses Section
Overview: The Prerequisite Courses Section is where you can assign which individual course or courses that must be completed by a student before they are allowed to register for a course. This section for prerequisites is most useful if you have a small handful of courses that count as prerequisites.
Location: Learning Management/Courses/Course Editor -> Prerequisite Course Categories Section
Overview: The Prerequisite Course Categories Section is where you can assign which courses must be completed by a student before they are allowed to register for a course. In this section you can add the courses based on a common category assignment. This can be useful if you have a large quantity of courses to add, and/or ongoing or potential future instances of classes that will qualify as prerequisites. Using the category approach, all you need to do is ensure any qualify courses have the correct category assigned and it will qualify as a prerequisite.
For all the Prerequisite Courses Categories included, at least one Course associated with each of these Categories must be completed before this Course can be taken.
