How to Create a Web Document Certificate

How to Create a Web Document Certificate Steps

  1. Go to Content Management / Documents

  3. Best approach is to choose the Copy an Existing Web Document or Copy a Full Partner Web Document Template.

  6. Next Click the Green Edit button to launch the Document Designer.
  7. If you have selected to Copy an Existing Web Document, note that we create a copy of the article that was in the source web document.
  8. Next edit or update the article content via the following steps:
    1. Click the Pencil Icon to launch the Article Editor in full screen editor
    2. Update the Name of the Article
    3. Update any of the content of the article as needed
    4. When done with edits click Save and Close
  9. Review the document in the Print to PDF mode, best to use Firefox browser due to the fact that Firefox draws up a preview and presents it in a browser tab, whereas Chrome just saves it to your computer with no browser preview
    1. Hide Toolbars or Exit Design Mode
    2. Click Print to PDF
    3. Review for spacing and print formatting
  10. Back in the Design tab make any additional changes or refinements you need
  11. Back in the Document Editor – for security purposes and to ensure that any user variables will populate, enforce a sign-in to the correct member group by checking the relevant box in the Member Group fields in the Web Document Editor
  12. Save and Close the Web Document Editor tab to finalize your work

Web Document Certificate Vertical Spacing Tips

Ways to Adjust the Vertical Spacing in a Web Document Certificate Vertical

  • To refine vertical spacing in between “sentences” use the return key and enter the space bar once to put an invisible space to hold its place
    • Shift+Enter = single line break
    • Sift = default double space
    • Line Height: If the returns are too much space, sometimes I just increase the line-height on the text I am trying to adjust, and it can create better results.
  • To refine vertical spacing on the very top and bottom of print page, you can put the content in a table with three rows. The top and bottom rows will be “empty” rows however you can add height settings in them to help control the vertical spacing. I use this setting if I need to adjust the spacing of the article once it is done and so it looks relatively vertically centered in print mode. Note on screenshot: https://screenrec.com/share/v4GmwZ6abV This will be the very last step after you have updated the content and previewed in print mode.
  • An alternate to putting the content in a table with 3 rows, you can use the design tools to add padding to the rows or columns above and below the main content. Also, you can try to use borders to create a design element that fills space.
  • As you work refresh the print preview tab in Firefox after each change to see if the spacing looks good and continue the steps above until you are satisfied.
