Create a Count Up Counter

Location: Content Management/Counters – New -> Count Up to a Number Mode

Overview: The Counter object is an animated widget that allows you to show a scrolling count of any number set you define to draw attention of the web visitor to a product or service that you want to quantify and display visually.

Count Up Counter Mode: For example, a real estate agent may want to have a count up counter widget on their home page to show how many properties they have listed for sale, how many are in escrow, and how many have sold.  Or an investment business may want to show how dynamic and successful their company's investments are by counting up to various sales goals and milestones. Ideally the values your present would be impressive and inspire your prospect to want to continue to look into your products or services.

How to Create a Count Up Counter:

  1. Go to Content Management/Counters and click New or choose to duplicate an existing one
  2. Select the Count Up To A Number option from the Counter Mode menu
  3. Review and set the following Count Up Settings:
    • Starting Value - This is the value you would like the animation to start counting up from
    • Ending Value - This is the value you would like the animation to stop at
    • Counter IncrementCount up in steps equal to this number - an odd number is suggested to show more changes in all digits of the counter
    • Updates per SecondThe number of times per second the counter should update
    • Following Text - Allows you to append a character such as a percent sign, or a plus sign etc. at the end of the dynamic number as a label
  4. Review the Appearances section and adjust as desired
  5. When done click Save and Close
  6. You can add the Counter widget directly to a colum just like any other content

Note: You will need to create one counter object per value you want to animate. So if you want a four across counter, you will need four counter objects, one for each value. You will want to have a row with four columns to host the counters, and in each column you add the individual relevant counter object. You may also want to give the counters a header. In this case you will need to create an article and put the header text in that. You would then add that to the top of the column that is hosting each counter.
