Provide Opt-In Forms on Your Website - Build Your Own Clean Lists Organically!

Overview: Based on what we've learned about blacklists and clean lists, you should only send marketing or promotional emails to potential customers who consented to get these types of emails from your website. The best way to do that is to create your opt-in list and invite contacts to join it.

In this module we'll cover:

In Full Partner there are two main ways you can prepare your website to welcome opt-in email subscriptions. One works best to capture new leads, and the other is best used to clean up your existing lists.

Capture New Leads with an Opt-in Form

On the front face of your website you should always have a sign-up, subscribe or opt-in form. Call it what you want, the important thing is that it is highly visible and clear to the visitor that it is a form that will sign them up to receive marketing emails from your website.

Tips to Get Your Web Visitors to Fill Out the Opt-In Form

  • Ideally you will make the form easy to fill out, the fewer fields you ask for and require the more likely someone will be to fill it out.
  • Offer something in exchange for their email. Entice the visitor to engage with your website–offer them a free White Paper, or a coupon or some reason to motivate them to fill out that form.
  • Try to make the form highly visible, but not annoying. Some marketers prefer pop-overs to show the form that takes over the entire screen until you click an X to close it, but this can be a nuisance to the web visitor and Full Partner does not currently support this method. It's best to consider placing your sign-up form somewhere easy to find on all pages, such as in the header, footer, or a shared left or right column. This sign-up form will then connect the contact to your opt-in list that you created, and if presented correctly you can assume that the web visitor signed up on that form because they want to hear from you!

Clean Up Existing Lists Without Asking Contacts to Fill Out a Form

If you are interested to learn how to clean up existing contacts and invite them to join your opt-in list without using a form, we will recommend an easier method to get these existing contacts to "opt-in" to your main email list that can by-pass the need for a form -> Learn more about this method.
