Additional Formatting - Superscript, Subscript, Underline

Overview: The Format pull-down menu contains additional formatting options not visible on the defaulted view of the toolset.

In this module we cover the following text formatting tools as found in the Format pull-down menu:

In the Format Menu you will find some additional formatting options.

Bold – Same tool as seen exposed on the toolset, highlight desired text then select this option to bold text.

Italic – Same tool as seen exposed  on the toolset, highlight desired text then select this option to italicize text.

Underline – Highlight desired text then select this option to underline text. Note on website pages and emails, your readers will think that underline text is a live link. So best to not use this format option very often.

Strikethrough - Highlight desired text then select this option to render a strikethrough line through the text.

Superscript - Highlight desired text then select this option to render the text as a superscript, useful for trademarks and registered symbols.®

Subscript - Highlight desired text then select this option to render the text as a subscript, useful for numeric documentation for footnote1 references.

Clear Formatting – Highlight desired text then select this option to clear the formatting from the text. You may need to click this button several times to remove all the layers of formatting applied to the text. Note, this option does not remove Header Tags. To remove Header Tags, highlight the text and go into the Style menu and set the selection back to Paragraph Normal.
