Product Shipping Weight Setting

Location: Ecommerce /Products / Product Editor / Product Items Section -> Item Shipping

Overview: To activate shipping charges for your products, you will need to have a numeric value set in the shipping weight field for any item within a product you wish to charge a shipping fee for.

If you are using a real-time database lookup with weight based pricing with any of the major carriers, you will need to populate this field with an accurate weight value of the product inside its packaging.

If you are using a flat rate shipping, the accuracy of this value may not be used, however the system will look for a numeric value here to activate the shipping charges at checkout, so be sure to put some numeric value in this field.

If you do not wish to charge shipping on a product item, just leave the shipping weight field blank.
