Review and Test Your Installment Plan Setup

Location:  Ecommerce/Products / Product Editor -> Installment Payments Section

Overview: It is important to review and test your installment payment plan setup before presenting it to your customers to ensure it reflects what you intended to set up.

To Review:

  1. Click the Save button in the product editor, and the system will refresh the editor and provide to you the text of the payment plan as it will show to the customer.
  2. Read through this text carefully, if it does not match what you had expected, you may go and revise any of the fields and click Save again to review how the changes read.

To Test:

  1. After you are satisfied with the payment plan setup in the product editor, perform a test order of the product and review that the payment plan text and associated order record elements that get set up are in accordance to your product specs.
Examples of associated order record elements :
    • In ongoing recurring order should create a Master Payment (Status 19) order record, as well as the initial payment order record.
    • An installment payment plan that stops after a certain number of payments should create the initial order, plus any additional future dated installment payment order records
  2. Other things to look for on a test order:
    • The website product display of the payment plan text matches what you created in the editor
    • The shopping cart and checkout items payment plan text matches what you created in the editor
    • The receipt payment plan text matches what you created in the editor
