Set Up Your Affiliate Commission Records and Commission Chart

Location:  Affiliate Management/Commission Charts/Commission Records

  • The Commission Records are the defined rules for paying out commissions to your Affiliates.
  • The Commission Chart is assigned to the Affiliate Contact Record.

What are  Commission Records? Commission Records contain the rules for what Course, Event, and/or Product you want to offer to pay a Commission on. This Record also contains the amount you want to pay in either a dollar amount or a percent.

What are Commission Charts?  A Commission Chart holds a set of Commission Records and is  assigned to a Affiliate. It is possible to have numerous charts each of which has specific rules or records associated with it that define what you will pay on which Course, Product, and/or Event. However, an Affiliate can only be assigned to one Commission Chart.

Default Commission Chart:  The default Commission Chart is that chart that you set in Website Settings/Affiliates to be auto-assigned to your new affiliates. If you only have one Commission Chart, this will be the default. If you have a multi-level affiliate marketing program, you would assign the base or default Commission Chart that you want to start your affiliates on.

Different "TYPES" of Affiliates = Different Commission Charts:  It is possible to create more than one Affiliate chart for different "types" of Affiliates.  For example, you may have a generic "affiliate" program for anyone who wants to apply through your site, if your Affiliates "Sign Up" page is visible to the public.  And then you may have a more "elite" level of Affiliates, such as distributors or business partners that you work more closely with.  The generic "affiliate" would automatically be assigned the "default" chart that you assign in Website Settings, and you would need to manually set the second chart individually in the User record of your Distributors, or other business partners if you create a specific chart for them, which offers a different commission rate or a different offer than what you offer your generic affiliates.
