Teachers, Teacher Roles and Teacher Course Management Access

Teachers are Assigned in the Course Editor

Associating a contact into the Teacher section of a course will create a Teacher Course Record and designate the contact as a teacher for that course.

This teacher designation will show in the classroom to the students when they are utilizing Dropbox, Messaging, Teacher’s Directory, and a few other locations within the classroom where the teacher is referenced.

The Teacher Course Record also tells the system who to send notifications to, when the notification settings are enabled for various functions within the course and module level settings.

Teacher Role is Assigned in the Contact Record

The Teacher Role setting is an enhanced setting you can use in addition to the Course Teacher setting that extends extra privileges for the teacher to manage the course, by granting them limited access to your Account Manager.

In understanding the idea of a Teacher Role, the emphasis is on how much interaction a non-administrator teacher will need to manage the running of the course.
