< Previous
Next >

Location: Contact Management/All Contacts/Saved Lists – > Click New List

Overview:  It can be useful to create a query type list in contacts to pull together all contacts in your database that meet a custom criteria that you have predefined in website settings. This can range from a common niche interest group to a location or geographical region. The possibilities are endless as it really all can be customized to match your business needs

When you create a query list in contacts you can then use that list to send email broadcasts to. It is also a useful way to filter the finders and work with a group of contacts in one list as well as to export that list to Excel.

The setup for these custom contact fields always starts in Website Settings.  If you have not yet set up your custom contact fields, you can get started on that setup here: Set Custom Contact Fields in Website Settings.

How to Create Query List in Contacts Using Custom Contact Field as Criteria:

  1. Go to Contact Management/All Contacts
  2. Open the Saved List menu
  3. Click on New List
  4. Choose Query as the List Type
  5. Give the Query a Name
  6. In the first row under Criteria for Text and Number Fields:
    1. In the left most column, open the select menu and find the custom contact field in the list that you want to query on
    2. In the middle column, open the menu and use the Contains, note you might think this should be equals, but contains is the better choice for text
