Overview

It is important to become familiar with the different types of Emails that are sent out from your website so you know where to create, edit and manage them.

There are several ways an email can go out from your website.

They are as follows:

  • Ecommerce System Emails – These are the predefined default system emails that go out when a website visitor goes through the Shopping Cart. They include a New User Account Email, an Order receipt email and a few others. (See Locate and Update Your Ecommerce System Emails)

  • Broadcast Emails – A Broadcast email is an email that you arrange to send out to a specified list either by scheduling it or clicking a send now button. An example would be a newsletter. (See Email Broadcasts: Send Emails out to your Lists)

  • Sequence Emails – Located under Marketing Automation, these are auto-reply type emails that you set up to go out based on the triggers you predefine in the Rules section. An example would be a welcome letter to go out to new website members after they purchase a membership product welcoming  them to your website. (See Automated Sequence Emails)

  • Email Templates – are intended to be a library of Emails that you can duplicate to create Broadcast emails or Sequence Emails. With the exception of the Ecommerce Emails, Email Templates never get sent directly out to website visitors, but instead are a template or design base to become either a Sequence Email or a Broadcast Email. (See How to Create Email Templates)
